 The Association of Property Owners of the Hideout, Inc. is a Gold Star gated recreational community in Northeastern Pennsylvania seeking candidates for the following positions: 

 

GENERAL MANAGER 

Seeking an experienced General Manager to provide exceptional service to the Board and Homeowners.The General Manager ensures Association business is executed in a timely and accurate manner, in accordance with Association governing documents, (By-Laws, Protective Covenants, Consolidated Rules & Regulations, etc.), applicable local, state and federal regulations, and policies and objectives established by the Board of Directors. The General Manager will consistently adhere to and perpetuate the mission of the Association, Board of Directors, and membership, and has oversight over all aspects of community operations. This would include, but is not limited to: building strong relationships with the Board of Directors, committees and property owners, ensuring common areas are properly maintained, managing staff, ensuring homeowner adherence to community rules and regulations, assisting with budget preparation, presenting financial reports, preparing for and attending board meetings, and communicating with outside entities as necessary as well as local and state dignitaries. Takes pride in the look and feel of the community and strives to maintain our Gold Star status. The General Manager must have a service-oriented mindset, multi-tasking abilities, and a flexible resilient attitude.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:

  • Master’s Degree preferred in municipal management, public administration or General Manager development.
  • Eight years of progressive experience in management of service-oriented organization. 
  • Must have demonstrated exceptional ability in public relations, personnel management, facility maintenance, planning, and volunteer participation guidance.
  • A strong background in overall management of non-profit organization particularly in the areas of maintenance, recreational activities, budget development and control, food service administration, housekeeping and General Manager service.
  • Person with a high level of motivation and perseverance. 
  • Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays when required.

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
 
Conserves the General Manager’s time and promotes the Association’s image by representing the GM internally and externally; providing liaison between the GM, key executives, members and employees; publishing the Association newsletter.  Responsible for preparation of communications of all types in different media, responding to inquiries, creating and maintaining office media (files, reports, analyses, budgets, etc.), overseeing office management operations and other administrative duties for the office of the General Manager and the Board of Directors.  Provide support to the GM in all public relations and media events.
 
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 yrs. experience in the administrative field, with office and supply management experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, applications and office-related IT tools.
  • Must have the sensitivity to gauge the public perception of the Association, possess excellent tact and diplomacy and be able to build and sustain positive relationships with members, guests, employees, media, etc.
  • Exceptional communication, decision-making skills and administrative skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a strong ability to honor confidentiality and discretion concerns.
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays when required.
 
ADVERTISING EDITOR
 
Secure paid advertisers for the Hideabout, Hideout Map, Web Classified and any additional advertising needs of the General Manager. Follow through by obtaining, preparing and proofing copy.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
  • Experience in advertising sales, marketing, social media platforms, and photography.
  • Possess excellent customer service skills, communication both oral and written.
  • Detail oriented, able to multi-task and work with minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks, Adobe Design, Adobe Photoshop, Excel, Word as well as an understanding of layout/design and printing procedures a plus.
 
ENVIRONMENTAL FIELD TECHNICIAN (PART-TIME)
 
Work to assist both the Environmental Manager and the Administrative Assistant with Environmental Control Committee (ECC) procedures, enforcement of ECC Rules and Regulations, conduct initial home resale inspections, conduct follow-up site inspections and other related duties.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
  • Knowledge of construction & building codes is desired.
  • Sound public relation skills, ability to communicate orally, electronically and in writing is necessary.
  • The ability to multi-task and complete assigned duties in a timely manner with little supervision is a must. 
  • Responsible team player to support our diverse work program.  

 
RECREATION PROGRAMMER

 

This position requires a person with strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate people. Major emphasis is placed on the implementation and evaluation of existing programs and opportunities for the membership and their guests. This person is expected to provide strong leadership and administrative abilities in working with the necessary staff, volunteers, and members.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: 

  • One to three years of experience in Recreation Management/Recreation Programming.
  • B.S. Degree in Recreation, Human Resources and/or Physical Education preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in recreation programming along with small and large group supervision.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to coordinate competitive sporting events and work cooperatively with staff, volunteers, and members.
  • Must possess good decision-making skills.
  • Must be flexible in work planning.

FITNESS CENTER COORDINATOR (PART-TIME)
 
Responsible for developing and implementing programs for this facility. Administrative duties include hiring/firing of Fitness Center Personnel and record keeping.
 
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
  • Experience in the field of fitness and fitness facility operation a must. 
  • Certified Personal Trainer or degree in Health/Fitness related field preferred. 
  • Must possess CPR/AED Certification.
  • Must possess a good understanding of strength training and cardiovascular exercise.
  • Must be able to assist individuals in developing a safe and effective exercise program.
  • Must possess good communication skills.

PATROL OFFICER 

Responsible and accountable to his/her immediate supervisor in the Chain of Command.  Maintain the enforcement responsibility for adopted Rules and Regulations.  Ensure the public safety of Association members, guests, employees, and contractors. Supervise department personnel on his/her assigned shifts. 
 
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
  • Must be 18 years or older, certified in ACT 235 and possess a valid PA driver’s license.
  • May be asked to work overtime or double shift.
  • Work is performed inside and outside with exposure to inclement weather and unpredictable situations.
  • Must be in Hideout issued uniform while on duty.  The Public Safety Director and/or the Operations Lieutenant must approve any exception to this rule.
  • Attendance at Public Safety related seminars sponsored by The Hideout is recommended for all Officers.
 
RESERVE COMMUNICATIONS OFFICERS (PART-TIME)
 
Acts in the capacity of Training Officer and Supervisor for all Public Safety Communication Officers. Responsible and accountable to his/her immediate supervisor in the Chain of Command.  Maintain the enforcement responsibility for adopted Rules and Regulations.  Ensure the public safety of Association members, guests, employees, and contractors.
 
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
  • Must be 18 years old and possess a valid PA Driver’s License.
  • Ability to deal with the public. 
  • Basic knowledge of Radio Communications a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of First Aid/AED/EMT a plus.

MAINTENANCE LABORER (PART-TIME)
 
Seeking a Maintenance Laborer to perform a variety of semi-skilled tasks in the construction, maintenance, and repair of buildings, facilities and common areas.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
  • General knowledge of maintenance and preventive maintenance of machines, mechanical equipment and building components.
  • Ability to operate and maintain equipment and power tools and operate light trucks, tractors and light construction equipment.
  • Ability to perform Physical labor.
  • Must possess mechanical aptitude and the ability to solve problems with little supervision.
  • Basic knowledge of all building trades.
  • Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is to be used at all times.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Must be in Hideout issued uniform while on duty.
  • Must possess a valid PA Driver’s License.
 
HOUSEKEEPER
 
Employee performs physical work necessary to maintain a high-standard of cleanliness, orderliness, appearance and sanitation in all Hideout amenities and public areas. Work is performed within established procedures under both written and verbal instructions. Some minor decision making about details of work is exercised.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
  • Basic understanding of commercial building cleaning methods and procedures;
  • Knowledge of the materials, supplies and equipment utilized in cleaning activities.
  • Knowledge of safe use of cleaning products and chemicals.
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions, use good judgment in carrying out written or oral instructions.
  • Demonstrates high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate mechanical cleaning devices.
  • Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is to be used at all times.
  • Must foster a positive work demeanor.
 
SKI HILL LIFT OPERATORS (SEASONAL)
 
Assist in loading and unloading skiers from lifts and tows, as well as running the lifts themselves.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have some skiing ability.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather and be able to perform physically strenuous tasks
  • Must attend lift operator training and read lift operation handbook. 
  • Must attend lift evacuation training. 
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
 
SKI HILL SKI/SNOWBOARDING INSTRUCTORS (SEASONAL)
 
Teach Ski/Snowboard classes under the direction of the Ski School Director. These classes focus helping the client to improve their skiing skills for those whose ability level is from first-timer to intermediate.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: 
  • Must be 15 years old and have your own equipment.
  • Must be able to explain and teach basic through advanced skiing skills.
  • Must attend all training sessions held by the Ski School Director.
  • Must enjoy coaching/working with children and able to show patience and sensitivity for their unique needs.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
