 The Association of Property Owners of the Hideout, Inc. is a Gold Star gated recreational community in Northeastern Pennsylvania seeking candidates for the following positions: 

FINANCIAL MANAGER
Manage all financial functions/activities necessary for the General Manager to meet its fiscal goals/responsibilities and assist the General Manager.  Manages the Accounting Department providing financial information for all General Manager activities that enables management and the Board of Directors to make educated economic decisions for the Hideout General Manager’s future.  This position acts for the General Manager in his/her absence, directing the day to day activities of the POA in accordance with all State and Federal laws/regulations, as well as the policies and objectives established by the Board of Directors.

EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • B.S. Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university. 
  • Knowledge and experience in financial statement preparation, AICPA standards and generally accepted accounting techniques.  Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, income tax and banking working knowledge.
  • Must be computer literate as well as spreadsheet proficient (hardware and software).
  • Strong managerial abilities.

ADVERTISING AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS ASSISTANT
Proactively source and secure paid advertisers for The Hideabout Newspaper, Hideout Map, Web Classified, and any additional advertising needs of the community. Partner with Community Relations Manager to obtain copy from community departments and partners and prepare and proof copy accurately and in a timely manner.

 

EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
 

  • Working knowledge and professional experience with QuickBooks, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Excel, and Word
  • Relationship-based Sales experience highly preferred
  • Work cooperatively with clients and staff.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy is crucial for success in this role
  • Understanding of layout/design and printing procedure.
  • Demonstrated typing and writing skills.
 
FOOD AND BEVERAGE MANAGER
Oversee promotion of product to include food, beverage, alcohol, entertainment, presentation of FOH Staff, and customer relations. Create and institute creative and profitable menus and specials to ensure continued customer growth.


EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Mixology skills and management ability, particularly budget and inventory control.
  • Must be neatly dressed and well-groomed to create a positive image among guests and employees.
  • Take a personal interest in the Hideout and create a good example for employees to follow.
  • Reduce the risk of customers becoming intoxicated, prevent alcohol impaired driving, prevent sales to minors, detect fraudulent identification, improve staff morale and job performance, increase profitability, protect the Hideout by reducing the risk of alcohol related lawsuits, and reduce the risk of citations against our license.
  • Possess proficient knowledge of liquor quality and preparation and keep updated on new or revised beverage receipts.
  • Provide RAMP training to employees (Responsible Alcohol Management Program).
  • Must be able to calmly respond to angry guests.
  • Must be able to effectively card all guests who appear under the age of 30 for alcohol purchases.
  • Must be able to work with beer, wine and liquor vendors to obtain the best prices and receive merchandising items for events for Hideout members.
 
FACILITIES SUPERVISOR
Supervise full-time facilities workers and seasonal employees. Perform a variety of skilled trade tasks including repairs, fabrication and installation of equipment, machinery and building component systems.
 

EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 yrs. experience in a similar facility maintenance related field.
  • Must have knowledge of boilers, furnaces, condensers and related HVAC equipment.
  • Must have knowledge of welding and the ability to perform minor welding repairs including MIG, TIG and stick welding.
  • Must have general knowledge of sheet metal fabrication.
  • Must have general knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Must have general knowledge of plumbing systems.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of pool maintenance and operation including pumps, filters and chemical feeder equipment.
  • Must have the ability to interpret blueprints.
  • Must be certified in pool operations and pesticide application with the PA Department of Agriculture.
  • Must possess mechanical aptitude and the ability to solve problems with little or no supervision.
  • Must possess and maintain a CDL Class “B” license.

PATROL OFFICERS (FULL-TIME/PART-TIME) 
Responsible and accountable to his/her immediate supervisor in the Chain of Command.  Maintain the enforcement responsibility for adopted Rules and Regulations.  Ensure the public safety of Association members, guests, employees, and contractors. Supervise department personnel on his/her assigned shifts. 
 
EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be 18 years or older, certified in ACT 235 and possess a valid PA driver’s license.
  • May be asked to work overtime or double shift.
  • Work is performed inside and outside with exposure to inclement weather and unpredictable situations.
  • Must be in Hideout issued uniform while on duty.  The Public Safety Director and/or the Operations Lieutenant must approve any exception to this rule.
  • Attendance at Public Safety related seminars sponsored by The Hideout is recommended for all Officers.
 
RESERVE COMMUNICATIONS OFFICERS (PART-TIME)
 Acts in the capacity of Training Officer and Supervisor for all Public Safety Communication Officers. Responsible and accountable to his/her immediate supervisor in the Chain of Command.  Maintain the enforcement responsibility for adopted Rules and Regulations.  Ensure the public safety of Association members, guests, employees, and contractors. 

EXPERENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be 18 years old and possess a valid PA Driver’s License.
  • Ability to deal with the public. 
  • Basic knowledge of Radio Communications a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of First Aid/AED/EMT a plus.

POOL/BEACH OFFICERS (PART-TIME)
Responsible and accountable to his/her immediate supervisor in the Chain of Command.  Maintain the enforcement responsibility for adopted Rules and Regulations as they pertain to Pool & Beaches.  Ensure the public safety of Association members, guests, employees, and contractors.
 
EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • At least one-year experience in Security position preferred. 
  • Basic knowledge of Radio Communications helpful.
  • First Aid/AED/EMT certification a plus.  
  • Must possess good decision-making skills and a high level of patience in dealing effectively with property owners in a polite and courteous manner at all times.
  • Must be detailed oriented and have excellent and writing, documentation, communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be certified in and able to use tools and equipment required (i.e. Pepper Spray).
  • Must be able to remain calm in an emergency situation. 
  • Must be flexible and capable of working well under pressure. 
  • Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
  • Must possess a valid PA Driver’s License.


LIFEGUARDS (SEASONAL)
 To observe and supervise the activities of swimmers in and around the pool and adjacent areas and respoding to emergencies with the major emphasis must be given to preventative lifeguarding and the surveillance of all patrons. 
 
EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Individual must be American Red Cross certified in the following areas: 
  • Lifeguard Training,
  • Waterfront Lifeguarding,
  • CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
  • Standard First Aid.
  • Must be able to maintain an attitude of alertness at all times.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of all Hideout Rules & Regulations.
  • Must conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times.
  • Must have good decision-making skills.
  • Must be experienced in the daily supervision of a public pool.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with staff and guests.
  • Must be in full uniform at all times.
